He wanted to teach Tezuka a lesson about looking down on people. He used his racket and hit Tezuka in the elbow. He then decides to quit the Tennis Club if that’s the kind of people that are in it. n Karakura Town, unidentifiable spirits begin appearing en masse. While attempting to deal with these strange souls, Ichigo Kurosaki and Rukia Kuchiki meet Senna, a mysterious shinigami who wipes out most of them fairly quickly. Senna is evasive about her squad assignment, so Ichigo is forced to follow her while Rukia tries to find out what’s going on.Meanwhile, in Soul Society, the real world is suddenly reflected in the sky, so T?shir? Hitsugaya and Rangiku Matsumoto are sent to investigate. They meet up with Ichigo in the real world, who has lost track of Senna by this point. They discuss the events at the Urahara Shop, where Kisuke Urahara explains that a dimension between Soul Society and the real world, known as the Valley of Screams, has expanded to the point that it is connecting the two worlds, acting as a lens. The souls Ichigo saw earlier are known as “Blanks”, souls that were lost in the space between the worlds and lost their memories. The Blanks make up the very fabric of the Valley of Screams, but they alone could not be responsible for the size to which it has grown. He goes on to explain that the lost memories of all the souls will have formed into a single being known as the “Memory Rosary”, and has Ichigo track this being down.

After saving Rangiku from death, Urahara commences his fight with Yammy. Luppi continues his battle with the others and Hitsugaya manages to come and help them up. Meanwhile, Ichigo is struggling to fight Grimmjow after losing his mask. Rukia shows up to help but they are no match. All seems lost when help in the form of Hirako appears to help. The conclusion to the battle with the Espada begins!

Ichigo continues his battle with Grimmjow, with his hollow mask, that is only going to last about 11 seconds. He has the upper hand too, until his mask breaks.

Meanwhile, Hitsugaya is fighting Yammy, well Luppi is fighting Yumichika. Luppi gets bored and wants to fight all four and releases, beats Hitsugaya and fights Ikkaku, Matsumoto, and Yumichika at once, as things start to look bad Urahara comes in and saves them.

Ulquiorra appears before Orihime and tells him that they she needs to come with him right now or her friends will be killed.
